I've been patiently waiting to do this post since the preview image of Sarah Jessica Parker's US Vogue cover hit The Fashion Spot about a week ago. There still isn't an HQ image, so I'm afraid we're stuck with the tagged one [left].It's the May issue, and SJP is obviously promoting the May 27th release of Sex and the City 2. I like the look of the issue, and Sarah's smiley picture, shot by Mario Testino, is very refreshing.
This is Sarah's 5th US Vogue cover. Her first was at the start of 2002, where she was introduced as 'The Star Next Door'. Within a year she was discussing 'movies' and 'motherhood', and by her 2005 cover SATC had finished....
...Only to be quickly brought back to life in 2008, when Vogue felt talking 'about sex' was just as important as the killer question: 'How Clean is Your Water?'
Now she's back again, not just as a 'Fashion Superstar' but a 'Modern Mom' too. I love looking at old magazine covers - you can tell so much about the time just from the cover lines.
The all important question, though, is which is your favourite SJP cover? Do you like vintage SJP, all wavy hair and big grin, or are you more a fan of sultry SJP, posing in-between Mr Big's legs?
