Hit and Miss of the Week: Pretty in Pink
This week my favourite look belonged to Kate Bosworth. She took to the red carpet in a pale pink Calvin Klein, and I adore the result, she looked absolutely stunning. Also dressing up this week were Taylor Swift (who is slowly finding her style) and Dita Von Teese, who was in Paris for the couture collections.
And over in LA the pavements were just as styled as the runways in Paris - both Nicole Richie and Kirsten Dunst were snapped out and about in cute outfits. As always, let me know which look you rate in the comments section.

On Your Marcs...
Remember the beauty that was the Marc Jacobs S/S 09 collection? I still miss seeing the ads with Raquel Zimmermann by Jergen Teller [above] in magazines. I'm a massive fan of Marc Jacobs and the S/S 09 collection is one of my all time favourites.
If you wanted a piece of the collection but missed out here's the good news: next week 150 pieces from the collection will hit The Outnet at up to 70% off. So now we can all feel like Raquel!

The Reinvention of Fergie Ferg
Isn't it amazing how much a peplum skirt can do for a girl? I normally ignore Fergie's style but she hit just the right note in this Michael Kors LBD.
I would have preferred a shoe with a less pointy toe, but overall this is one of the best looks I've ever seen Fergie in. The Grammy Awards are coming up, and Fergie will be attending, so I hope she can keep this style improvement up. I always hate the red carpet at the Grammys, the dresses are always so disappointing and somehow even the most expensive dresses end up looking cheap, so fingers crossed Fergie will bring us something to swoon over.
I'd really like to see her in this RM by Roland Mouret dress or a bit of Vionnet, what do you think?

Look of the Week: Black Lace
As well as Balmain-look-alike skinny combats I am also on the look out for the perfect black lace dress. Black lace isn't the first look that first springs to mind when you think of S/S, but it's what I want to wear. And I'm not the only one.
This week Reese Witherspoon has worn a black lace mini, Dita Von Teese a black lace Jean Paul Gaultier and Kate Moss a Valentino in black lace - love the white blazer, no?
My spring/summer lace inspiration comes from the Dolce & Gabbana collection. It's a little gothic, a little Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan and oh so desirable. I got an amazing little denim jacket at a bargain price in H&M last summer, and I think a little black lace dress would be the perfect addition to bring it into 2010. I might even add some socks and high heels too, just to really work the Dolce look.
But for those who have had enough of black, why not try white or nude lace, Ashley Olsen style? Dolce & Gabbana toughen it up with leather accessories while Ashley goes for a dark lip.
Is this a look you'll be channelling this S/S? How will you style it?

Close Enough
A few weeks ago I wrote about my love for a pair of skinny combat trousers from the Balmain S/S 2010 collection. I am mad about these pants. Sadly I do not have the budget for Balmain so I was hoping Topshop or Zara would do a good copy. And hooray for Topshop, who already have a very similar design in store.
They are missing the pocket detail, which is a shame, but I'm planning on trying them on tomorrow and if they're a good fit I'll just have to suck it up and live without pockets on my thighs. It's a hard life...
I like Balmain a lot, but up until now I've never really suffered from a case of "Balmainia"
like the rest of the female population. When it comes to these skinny combats, though, it's Balmainia all the way. And because I'm a loser I wanted to see these trousers in motion, so I tracked down this wicked runway video. It makes me hungry for fashion week.
WARNING: This video contains many gorgeous models, in hardly any makeup. Do NOT watch if you are having a bad day, it will only make things worse.
Have you, or are you, suffering from a case of Balmainia too?

A Cover is Worth a Thousand Words
ELLE collections is out, and annoyingly I thought it was out tomorrow so didn't buy it today (I like to get magazines the day they come out - I'm very OCD about magazines). By the look of the cover it will be another fab issue. I love the choice of image, front row at the Burberry show.
It's just not fabulous because of all the stars (ahh Mary-Kate Olsen) but because they're all looking in completely different directions. It makes me laugh.
And the other cover I've been swooning over today is 10 magazines. Double his-and-hers with David and Victoria Beckham.
I'm a massive life-long Victoria fan, but I'm actually more into David's cover. Which do you prefer?

Now This is an Oscar Dress
Givenchy Haute Couture is to die for! I love, love, love it. And the finale dress below should definitely be on the red carpet at the Oscars. But the problem is that this is a nominee dress, you can't really wear something this dramatic if you're not up for an award. And it's a shame because it would look amazing on Diane Kruger, no?
Looking at the nominees at the Golden Globes we can guess who might be nominated for best actress at the Academy Awards. There was Emily Blunt, Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan and Gabourey Sidibe (I'm dying to see Precious).
Out of the above I'd say Emily and Sandra are the best bets (they both look good in pinks and purples) but they normally stick to 'safer' options.
It could possibly work on Zoe Saldana as Avatar will no doubt be nominated. But really it's a Diane dress. Perhaps she could wear it at Cannes if it doesn't make the Oscar red carpet?
Who would you like to see in the Givenchy dress?
And good news: Anne Hathaway will announce the Oscar nominees; which means she'll probably be attending too. Will there be some Armani for her? I'd bet on the two-and-a-half-bagel blue dress.

Anne Hathaway and Armani Privé
As you have probably already seen, Anne Hathaway was front row at the Armani Privé S/S 10 collection yesterday. After the show she told reporters that there were a few pieces she would like to wear to upcoming events, and that if "Mr. Armani would be generous enough, I’d love to wear them.”
I wouldn't be surprised to see Annie in any of the Armani Privé dresses, her style is 100% Armani. Remember awards season last year? She wore Armani to the Oscars and the Golden Globes. And her Azzaro dress at the SAG awards was still in keeping with the classic style she likes so much. She's Annie Armani!
So I've tried to guess which dresses from the collection she was referring too. One onion bagel is not so likely, three is very likely. Why an onion bagel I hear you ask? Because of the line in The Devil Wears Prada - "did somebody eat an onion bagel?"
If Anne does wear any of these bagel dresses you must treat yourself to one!
Can you see Anne wearing any of the above dresses? Did you like the Armani Privé collection?

Pick a Side - Team Crawford or Team Efron
You may remember back at the A/W Couture collections when Lara Stone took the final walk at Chanel she was arm-in-arm with Baptiste Giabiconi. And he looked freakishly like Chace Crawford. For the finale of the S/S 10 Chanel Couture collection he's back - at least I'm pretty sure it's Baptiste again, isn't it?
Only this time he is looking like Zac Efron.
Now Chace and Zac may seem very similar, they are both pretty Hollywood boys with perfect eyebrows, but I know better than anyone when it comes to the Efron/Crawford battle you must pick a side and stick to it.
I used to be 'Team Crawford' along with my friend Dani from Between Every Line. When I switched to 'Team Efron' (it was a hard decision, but one that I stand by) she was very unhappy. It's like being pro-Jennifer on a Monday and pro-Angelina on a Tuesday. You just can't cross the line. You choose your favourite teen heartthrob and you damn well stick with them!
Clearly no-one gave Karl Lagerfeld this message, but I'll let him have them both, he is a genius after all.
So, are you Team Crawford or Team Efron?
P.S How much would you love to see Zac Efron wear that suit to a premiere? I think it would make my life!

Feeling Green
I've jest received the exciting news from ASOS that from February they will be introducing a section of eco beauty products to their beauty department. ASOS is already great for makeup and beauty products, but The Green Room will offer a range of organic, environmentally friendly and socially aware products that you can feel good about, inside and out.
Brands stocked in The Green Room will include: Green & Spring, Yes to Carrots, Ole Henriksen and L'Occitane.
And on the suject of green beauty, the Dior Haute Couture collection was shown in Paris today and the models were wearing green eyeshadow.
I'm not sure this look is for me, what do you think?

Best Dressed: SAG Awards
I'm not going to do a long post about the SAG's, as they've been and gone now. But I wanted to give somebody the title of 'Best Dressed', and the obvious winner is Marion Cotillard in Elie Saab.
She's already worn Dior to the Globes, but she'll likely wear another piece for the Oscars. Or will she? What label do you think she'll wear for the Academy Awards this year? I'm hoping for a bit of JPG.

Hit and Miss of the Week: When it Rains
It's rather bad that I feel this smug, but you would not believe how happy I was to see that it rained in LA this week. It's only because I am constantly seeing pictures of actresses walking around in tank tops and flip flops while in the UK we're still pulling on the UGG boots. But, obviously, the rain did not stop the women of LA dressing up. Out came the Jimmy Choo for Hunter wellies, and everyone was wearing a hat.
And over in London the story that dominated the week was the 'is Kate engaged or not?' drama. Which meant she was papped a lot this week. She's looking stylish as ever, of course. Let me know who you rate this week in the comments as always.
And also, who is styling Sandra Bullock at the moment? She looked amazing at the SAG awards in McQueen. I'm very impressed.

The Beach
A while ago I posted some photos of Kate Moss taken by Jürgen Teller in 1996. Many of you said you'd like to see more vintage Moss on Coco's Tea Party, and I just found this great shoot from the same year. 1996 was clearly a good year for Kate Moss.
The shot of her in the black lace reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana's s/s 2010 collection. Black lace for the beach? Why not?
And how J-Lo is the third image?

Put a Ring on it
At the moment I am completely obsessed with earrings and rings. Especially those that are big, colourful and make a statement. I went to see It's Complicated last night (it's good, go see it) and I just kept thinking how nice Meryl Streep's earrings were the whole time (simple gold hoops mostly, if you were wondering). I just can't get jewellery off my mind...
From top left: Mango's blue drop earrings from asos.com; Erickson Beamon's clip on pair from net-a-porter.com; Nicole Fendel's gold petal earrings from My-Wardrobe.com; Yves Saint Laurent's agate and purple amethyst pair from net-a-porter.com.
From top left: Semi precious agate ring from asos.com; Yves Saint Laurent's arty ring from net-a-porter.com; Flower ring from topshop.com; Mawi's ivory pearl ring from My-Wardrobe.com.
I actually treated myself to the pink YSL ring last week, and I've barely taken it off since. It's now my favourite piece of jewellery. Do you have any pieces that are particularly special to you, whether they're sentimental nick nacks or designer buys?

Nobody Does it Better
I think the last time I bought a copy of Vogue Paris was when I was actually in Paris late last summer. It's fair to say I've been pretty slack when it comes to buying VP lately - even though my lovely magazine man has a copy every month.
But there is no doubt about it; I will be buying the February issue. It's a Daria cover. And not just a Daria cover but a Daria in Prada cover.
The rest of the issue looks divine as well. It's filled to the brim with models. Models, models, models! I have nothing against celebrities, but you really can't beat a professional model when it comes to working the new seasons looks.
I mean, just look at Naomi Campbell below in that Michael Kors swimsuit. I think I could look at pictures of Naomi all day.
Triple the models. All in Christian Dior.
Publication: Vogue Paris, February 2010
Photographers: Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin
Stylists: Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt and Camilla Nickerson
I don't have a favourite model of all time (far too hard to pick just one) but Naomi and Daria are both in my top ten. Who is your favourite?

New Season, About Time Too
Getting bored of the sales? Luckily there are some fabulous new season pieces hitting the online retailers this week. My-Wardrobe, which is always great for the extra-special wardrobe basics, has some lovely new goodies in. I'm loving the Pringle 1815 dress [below] and am really tempted to buy myself a pair of the pink Vivienne Westwood earrings. You can view their 'new in' section HERE.
And hitting Net-A-Porter tomorrow morning is the Halston Heritage collection, as worn by SJP in the SATC sequel. I'm in love with the orange dress below, which is also available in black. Make sure you're online bright and early tomorrow if you want a piece of HH, it's sure to sell out fast.
Which of the three Halston Heritage dresses above is your favourite?

Golden Globes: Saving the Best Until Last
In the Golden Globes post yesterday I said I felt there were far too many boring strapless dresses on the red carpet. Reading through all your lovely comments I noticed that most of you felt the same, and it's almost taken the joy and interest out of red carpet events.
Which is why it's rather fitting that the two looks from last night that I liked the best came from the after parties, where it was less formal and there was more room for individuality:
Ashley Olsen in Erdem
You know Ashley is my absolute favourite ever. And I'm a massive fan of Erdem. Together they make a beautiful, and rather unexpected pair. It's so lovely to see Ashley in a bold colour and I adore the matching Manolos.
Chloe Sevigny in Christian Lacroix
I'm now on board with the grey Valentino she wore on the red carpet, but this Lacroix dress was love at first sight. I love the prom-style shape on her, and the sheer skirt works really well.
Were you also loving Ashley and Chloe's after party looks?
And a few people asked me what I thought of Jennifer Aniston's dress yesterday. I didn't dislike it in anyway, she looked brilliant, but seeing as it was another black dress I didn't think there was much to report.
