Zoe Saldana's Calvin Klein Campagin

As you all know I am a big fan of Zoe Saldana, she rules the red carpet and is also insanely beautiful. Zoe has just landed a the Fall 2010 Calvin Klein Underwear campaign, photographed by Mikael Jansson, further securing her place as Hollywood's hottest actress. I know Megan Fox's Armani underwear ads were a huge hit with the male population, but as far as I'm concerned Megan has nothing on Ms Saldana.

For me bra shopping is one of the most tedious activities out there, as it seems virtually impossible for anyone to make an A-cup that doesn't look like it's designed for a 13-year-old, but I can always rely on Calvin Klein. I love their underwear. Zoe's Calvin campaign features their new Envy range of underwear which, according to the press release, will create a "more revealing silhouette."
As you know Calvin Klein has had a great lineup of campaign faces over the years, from Brooke Shields to Kate Moss, and they have an equally impressive selection of stars for A/W 2010. Zoe fronts their underwear, Lara Stone features in their mainline ads and Diane Kruger is the new face of Calvin Klein beauty. All three ladies were in Berlin last night for the "World of Calvin Klein" event.

Get Your Wedding Planner to Givenchy

There are times when you realise how embarrassing your celebrity obsessions are, and one such moment came to me last week when the news broke that Zoe Saldana is engaged to her boyfriend, Keith Britton. The excitement I felt for Zoe was really rather lame, considering I don't even know her, but she is sure to have the most stylish wedding of the year. So my fan-girl happiness is justified, right?
Zoe wore the breathtakingly beautiful purple Givenchy S/S 2010 Couture gown to the Oscars this year, and as soon as I heard the news of her engagement I immediately thought of Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci. He needs to make her wedding dress!

Tisci is one of my favourite designers working today, I can't get enough of his work, and the Givenchy A/W 2010 Couture collection is easily my favourite Haute Couture collection of the season so far. The lace detailing on the evening dresses is exquisite and I adore his use of fringing and feathers. Ten out of the eleven looks Tisci showcased would make wonderful wedding dresses (the black feathered dress is more red carpet) and they would all look gorgeous on Zoe.

Eager Givenchy fans will know that Tisci recently dressed model Lara Stone for her wedding, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Zoe is his next celebrity bride. Surely if she wasn't originally thinking of Givenchy for her wedding she is now. Let's just hope she shares her wedding snaps...

Hit and Miss of the Week: Long Sleeves

It is a little ironic that the moment the weather warms up celebrities start wearing long sleeved dresses on the red carpet. They always want to be one step ahead. I loved both Olivia Palermo and Jaime King's long sleeved numbers this week.
Working a more summery look, though, was Zoe Saldana in a gorgeous orange Lanvin dress, and Jessica Simpson slipped into a Matthew Williamson mini, which while colourful, didn't do much for her.
And, finally, in much dressier looks were Camilla Belle and Hilary Duff. I love Hilary, and I do think she looks lovely in her Vera Wang number, but it looks more like the dress is wearing her. Camilla, on the other hand, is unbeatable on the red carpet. I adore the YSL dress with the bow-detail she wore this week.

The New Boho

Cast your mind back a few years, to the boho era of Sienna, Mischa and Lindsay. It was all about gypsy skirts, cowboy boots, low-slung belts and the Chloe Paddington.
Sienna has left her boho days behind her, but the look has returned for summer - just like it does every year.
This updated version of boho focuses on print. Louis Vuitton's S/S 2010 collection [left] was a mass jumble of tribal prints, in zesty limes, bright blues and sugary pinks. Zoe Saldana has already worn a dress from the Vuitton collection, selecting a classic black blazer as her only accessory.
And whilst Sienna was the boho poster-girl last time around, it's Nicole Richie who's leading the pack for 2010. She's been wearing lots of 60's and 70's inspired prints lately, especially in warm tones of orange, red and brown. And this look runs throughout her House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate collections, which are great labels for boho basics.

The Oscars: Extra Bits & Pieces

I wanted to do a more substantial Oscars Part Two post, but have a really bad headache (and haven't even looked at the last day of Paris collections - stress!) so am just keeping it down to the most important snippets of Oscar news. I use the word 'important' rather loosely, as it is mostly just a chance to say how adorable I think Jake Gyllenhaal is.


Maggie & Jake: The Cutest Oscars Pair
I love the Gyllenhaal family, they're just so pretty. As you all know Maggie wore a blue Dries dress (despite the fact she looks naked in this image) on the red carpet, which was paired with a beautiful Jennifer Behr headband. Jake was dressed in top-to-toe Burberry, looking very handsome, I must add.


Zoe & Zoe Look Fabulous
Zoe Kravitz was on the red carpet last night with her dad Lenny. I thought she looked gorgeous, she definitely has a promising red-carpet future ahead of her. And Zoe Saldana stayed faithful to Givenchy, changing into a F/W 09 Couture piece for the after parties. Does she ever get it wrong?


Another Hit Look For Cameron
And Zoe Saldana wasn't the only one making a successful outfit change. Cameron Diaz looked beautiful on the Oscars red carpet in Oscar de la Renta, but slipped into a Victoria Beckham dress for the Vanity Fair party. Victoria is on a roll...


And Speaking of Victoria...
She told everyone she was going to wear the ribbon-detail dress [above], from her A/W 10 collection, to the Oscars. Yet actually turned up in a different dress from the collection. How sneaky. And this morning she was interview on GMTV by ex band-mate Mel B. I always forget how funny she is, take a look:

The Oscars 2010

The red carpet at the Oscars last was definitely an interesting one. There were lots of dresses that I really didn't like, and a lot that blended into the background. But there were some red carpet moments that were so beautiful (Zoe Saldana, Cameron Diaz and Amanda Seyfried) that I didn't mind the average looks. Because it just made the Zoe's, Cameron's, and Amanda's of the world stand out even more.

In January I wrote that this dress was perfect for the Oscars. Diane Kruger was my first choice but I also suggested Zoe, and as fate would have it... This is easily my favourite look of the night. She looks stunning.


Amanda Seyfried in Armani Privé
I think Amanda looks fantastic in this dress, her best red carpet moment to date. But she wasn't actually up for an award, and this is perhaps a little bit to OTT, therefore. Either way she wore it perfectly, and it's sure to be in every best dressed list.


Diane Kruger in Chanel HC & Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta
I don't think Diane was at her absolute red carpet best last night (when she really brings it you don't even notice anyone else) but again, it's a faultless look. And Cameron Diaz is up there with Zoe when it comes to my favourite dresses of the night. The Oscar de la Renta dress looked like it was made for her, and it was a lovely surprise too - I don't normally put Cameron down as a full-skirt kinda girl.


Carey Mulligan in Prada & Kristen Stewart in Monique Lhuillier
I'm very disappointed that Carey went for a black dress, I wanted to see her in colour. But she did look very sweet, so I'll let her off. Kristen made up for the dodgy trousers of last week in this dramatic number. That fact that it's a little gothic anyway makes her moody face less obvious.


Meryl Streep in Chris March & Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten
Everyone loves Meryl, and it was nice to see a sleeve on the red carpet last night. Nice zebra-print bangle too. And I have a feeling some people will hate Maggie's printed dress, it isn't exactly your regular Oscar dress. But I love the fact she's always willing to experiment.


Demi Moore in Versace Atelier & Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel HC
I wasn't so keen on Demi in Versace at first, but it is starting to grow on me. And I also disliked SJP in Chanel, but I now totally adore it. It works better with her personality than the Versace does with Demi's.

And you've probably noticed that Sandra Bullock is not in the post. I'm so so so happy she won (not that I've seen the film) the award, but I wasn't into her dress at all. She looked much better at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards I think. I was also confused by Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz and Tina Fey. And I'm going up and down on Charlize Theron's Dior dress - I admire her for wearing it but I just don't think I like it.
Scarily I also thought Miley Cyrus looked good, but I could not bring myself to include her in the annual Oscar post...

Hit and Miss of the Week: Attack of the Brown Pants

It must seem like I'm always picking on Kristen Stewart. But it's not that I dislike her as a person, it's just that on the red carpet she always looks so grumpy, and that is never appealing. This week she went out to a premiere and she actually looked happy! But, wait, don't celebrate yet, as she was wearing disgusting trousers. Perhaps she's saving all her style magic for tonight's Oscars?
Also this week we got two gorgeous looks (one Vuitton, the other Valentino) from the lovely Zoe Saldana, who is sure to get it right on the red carpet tonight. And I'm sure Rachel Zoe is busy prepping her clients for the awards as I type; but she took some time out earlier in the week to prove she's just as good at dressing her own body. Best of the 2010 Golden Globes

After my first lap of Just Jared I felt pretty disappointed by the red carpet last night. So many stylish women got it wrong (and shockingly I didn't like any of Rachel Zoe's client's dresses) and there were far too many strapless column dresses.
But as I started to compile my favourite looks it started looking more promising. There are at least eight dresses that I love, and a few more growing on me.


Christina Aguilera in Versace & Drew Barrymore in Versace
I was surprised to see Christina at the Globes, but happy she was there - her Versace dress is one of my favourites of the night. And I even approve of her hair. Drew Barrrymore's dress, I am sure, will be mocked by the weekly gossip magazines for months on end. I admit, the bulge on her hip doesn't translate so well to the red carpet, but I still think she looks beautiful.


Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana & Maggie Gyllenhaal in RM by Roland Mouret
There were a lot of dull strapless dresses last night, but I think Emily made the style her own. The pale pink is really pretty. And Maggie looked fabulous in this Roland Mouret, again, it's a great colour.


Diane Kruger in Christian Lacroix & Sandra Bullock in Bottega Venetta
It was nice to see Diane bringing some Lacroix to the red carpet. I'm not 100% into the dress as a whole for some reason, but I worship that neckline, it's beyond gorgeous. And Sandra Bullock not only posed right but she looked fantastic. Purple is really her colour.


Julianna Margulies in Narciso Rodriguez & Marion Cotillard Christian Dior
Julianna's dress is very simple but it looks beautiful on her. The red bodice makes it much more than a classic black dress. And out of all the Nine cast Marion was the only one who looked half decent. It's nice to see a bit of colour amongst all the nudes and pale pinks.


Chloe Sevigny in Valentino & Zoe Saldana in Louis Vuitton
I didn't like Chloe's Valentino at first, but as I've been working on the post it's grown on me. The other big ruffle dress of the night was Zoe Saldana's Louis Vuitton. I'm still not sure on this one. I want to like it but I'm struggling a bit. She still had the best smile of the night though.
