Hit and Miss of the Week: Kirsten's Fab in Nina Ricci

It's been a very good week for red carpet appearances, with lots of stylish celebrities slipping into red carpet numbers. Kirsten Dunst looked beautiful in a Nina Ricci dress (I wish Kirsten was photographed more often) and Olivia Palermo looked fantastic in asymmetric feather embellished frock.
Unfortunately two of my favourites slipped up this week. Kate Hudson attended a few events, and sadly none of her outfits did it for me. But I'm sure she'll be back on top form next week. And Natalie Portman chose a Lanvin number for the New York City Ballet's Annual Spring Galathe. It's a stunning dress but I think her accessories let it down. A real shame.

NYC: Rodarte Front Row

Marc Jacobs didn't have celebrities on the front row this season, which took him out of the running for the most impressive front row lineup. Rodarte is in with a good chance of winning though; they invited Kirsten, Natalie and Chloe. I think everyone has a girl-crush on at least one of these lovely ladies, no?

As for the clothes, I liked. I'm a big fan of Rodarte, but this was in no way my favourite collection Laura and Kate have produced. The Rodarte look is well established now (and other designers sneakily take 'inspiration' from them too) so there was nothing too surprise this season.


But then I'm not that great at change anyway. And I loved the dreamy colour palette and angelic white dresses. It was a beautiful collection, and I'm sure Natalie and Kirsten will wear a few pieces between them on the red carpets this year.

Impressive, no?
Obviously you can't ever go wrong with Natalie Portman on the cover of your magazine, but ELLE UK never fails to produce an amazing cover.
I can't wait to receive my February issue, I hope the subscribers cover is just as good. I actually think I'm going to buy the newsstand edition too, because I adore this cover.
So far for 2010 ELLE UK have had Helena Christensen and now Natalie P. Both great choices.
Who would you like to see on their cover later this year? I'm thinking a double GG cover with Blake and Leighton would be cool.

Hit and Miss of the Week: Paltrow in Pastels

I was thinking this week was pretty boring in terms of the red carpet. There was Cate Blanchett in a stunning Armani dress and then not much else. Until Gwyneth Paltrow made an outing. I love her pale pink draped dress - it looks beautiful on her.
Also this week Zac Efron is continuing to look cool (do I smell a stylist?) and Ashley Greene pulled off a red pinstripe trouser-suit. As always, let me know your thoughts on the weeks looks in the comments section.

Hit and Miss of the Week: Diane in Wu

There is no doubt about it - the best celebrity look this week was Diane Kruger in Jason Wu. It's breathtakingly perfect. Also looking fabulous were Natalie Portman (when does she look bad?), Becki Newton (I heart her), and Jessica Alba (new stylist?).
I'm still not sure whether I like SJP's SATC look or not. From the angles of the photos the skirt looks ridiculous on her, but that could actually work well on screen - I'll have to see.
And finally there was Reese Witherspoon, who was popping up all over the place this week. My favourite Reese look is the navy dress worn with grey tights. I normally hate coloured tights but she looks amazing in them.
